V-Twin Dragon

The V-Twin Dragon was created for the launch of the upcoming BIG Gimmick.com website and contest. Over all I was very happy with how the dragon came out, no matter how much I complained to Kevin about this dang dragon boggin' the hell out of my machine. It was worth it, now that it's done.

As you can guess, I'm a biker... well ex-biker, since having kids and my bike was traded toward a Ford Expedition, but it's all good. I'll get a motorcycle again some time down the road. Either way I'm still a biker at heart and I wanted to do a  Dragon that would look sweet on a tank. I mixed in the symbol for infinty, into the dragons design... that whole ride forever deal. I thought that it worked out well with out being too over powering.

The project took,  (this is just an estimate, cause I was on vacation at the time I worked on this and not paying much attention to the clock), about  28-30 hours total to complete. The size of the image, 20"x20" at 300 ppi and the multitude of layers, caused some major drag time in photoshop during saves and transform effects, but that was expected.

On the high res. version, I'd like to point out the textured bend of the mesh on the muffler. I think that effect came out really nice and is one of my favorite parts of this piece.
