SKYSTREAM ILLUSTRATION
I did this illustration for Southwest Windpower for their July electronic newsletter that they send out to their dealers and customers. They wanted a fun illustration that was a spin off of the old US military war posters used to get people to enlist.
It was a great project to work on and gave me a chance to try some new techniques. It was painted in photoshop and I decided to go with more of an acrylic look than the original posters watercolor. Mainly because I'm more comfortable with that style and I wanted this to be a little bolder than the original image.

Hope everyone who saw the newsletter enjoyed the image and special thanks to Michael at Southwest for hooking me up with this project.
Happy 4th of July everyone!

Hi Josh,
Your poster was on display at an electric vehicle show in Portland, OR. I was glad to see your signature there!

Hey Lori,
How goes it... Hey thanks for letting me know. Do you remember the company that was using it?
Other than skystream no one had licensed it out, so I'm just wondering who was displaying it.

There were a couple of cars from a dealership, but your poster was associated with an individual. The event had several people who made their own electric vehicles. I didn't ask where he got the poster and I did not notice any advertising or company name associated with it. It was a very small show. It was kind of like a cruise-in, when a number of classic cars all go to a diner to show of their vehicles.
It is surprising that the poster got out here so quickly, having been just released.

Hey Lori,
I had a guy hit me up a little while back about about using the image for a green energy show and I gave him a price quote to license the image, but I never heard back from him. I'm thinking he must have decided to just use it and not pay, figuring I'd never hear about it. I could be wrong, but the timing seems suspect.
If you're ever at another show and see it again snap a photo for me, I'd really appreciate it.

Josh,
Did you get my last post?
It doesn't look like it. I think I sent it about 3 times so far.
Anyway, I'll try again.
It was just a guy who made his own electric vehicle who had your poster in front of his car. No advertising was involved as far as I could tell.
