Biketoberfest Daytona, FL 2009

Rode to Biketoberfest in Daytona Florida with my brother-in-law Keith for the weekend.

Had a great time. It was 2300 miles round trip on my 2008 Harley FXCW Rocker.

Trailer in???... hell no!

We rode our bikes the whole way. Left thursday night at 5:00 in freezing rain and rode into the middle of West Virginia before stopping for the night. Then finished the trip down on friday with 12 hours of riding. Left at 6:30am WV and showed up in Daytona at 9:00pm. The weather cleared up as we reached Florida, but you really couldn't enjoy it with your muscles crapping and burning after so long on the bike. Went to the Iron Horse Saloon to finish the evening out. That place is a blast.

Keith's Dad and wife Mary came up to eat breakfast with us and wander around Daytona Speedway, (Thanks again for breakfast at ihop) and watched the Hooters Bikini Contest. After they left we cruised down to main street and then ended up at Destination Daytona at the largest Harley Dealership in the world. Later that night we went back to the Iron Horse and watched the wall of death and then rode the loop.

Spent most of Sunday cruising and relaxing before heading back home monday. Trip home was great, perfect weather and the Virginias have to be experience on the back of a bike. Those highways are like a roller coaster. We made it home safe and with no tickets, so it was a great trip. Although I could have done without the wind/sun burn and raccoon look, but other than that... it was great.
